Aussie News 25: 'Inside job' stuffed up at casino

A glass panel n the display case at Perth's Burswood casino was smashed. Polices have found a suspect, but they failed to search any stolen items from him until some dislodged from inside him. Then he was sent to Royal Perth Hospital for X-rays. Six rings and a necklace worth a total of $329 000 were recovered. The man was in supervision and he will be sentence for stealing in a court at a date to be determined.

Comment:
How can a person keep the hard objects like jewellery in his body? Is he swallow or squeeze them in the body? No matter, how he put the objects in his body, stealing is a crime. So, think before you do anything. Otherwise, it will spoilt your future.

Aussie 24: Mourners to remember shark victim in Western Australia

On Tuesday morning, a 31-year-old man, Nicholas Edwards was killed by a shark. When he was enjoying his surfing, suddenly a shark attacked him. He was rushed to the hospital. The fellow surfers and ambulance officers tried their efforts to keep him alive. However, his injuries were too serious because of a severe bite on his right leg. A commemorative service will be held for him near Gracetown in Western Australia's south west.

Comment:
Surfing is a great activities. However, it poses dangerous to us too. So, we must make sure the location of surfing is safe. Additionally, we must have proper safety measures while surfing to ensure our safety.

Aussie News 23: Two Australian soldiers killed in Afghanistan, two wounded

At 10.30 am Afghan time on Friday, two Australian soldiers, Private Grant Kirby and Private Thomas Dale was killed by an explosive device in Afghanistan. Also, another two soldiers injured during the explosion. That time, the two killed soldiers were standing near their Bushmaster vehicle when an explosive device was activated.
After the death of two soldiers, Julia Gillard, the prime minister has sent her condolences to the families of Thomas Dale and Grant Kirby. She also hopes that the other two the injured soldiers in well and safe condition.

Comment:
Terrorism and wars cause undesirable consequences like death, injury, damage of property and others. So, stop terrorism and wars. Let us have a safe, peace world.

Aussie 22: France shuts beaches after crocodile spotted in the English Channel

After a crocodile was spotted lurking in the English channel, beaches in northern France have been closed and swimming was banned in some places to ensure the safety of the ordinary people. According to The Daily Mail newspaper, they stated that on Thursday, the crocodile stayed near to the sailing boat in the north-eastern port of Boulogne-sur-Mer. Besides that, there were two people claimed they had seen the crocodile. Therefore, the local council decided to close down the crowded local swimming areas at the height vacation season to prevent any undesirable incidents. In addition, they investigated all local zoos and amphibian centres to check whether any of their crocodiles are missing. The police, fire fighters and French army also carried out an intensive search for the reptile.

Comment:
Predators like crocodile, tiger, lion, bear and others pose dangerous to human beings. So, when local council announces that there has some animals around our place, please stay in safety area and coordinate with them.

Aussie News 21: Death driver Anthony Smith banned for a decade

In June 2009, Anthony Smith, 20-year-old who stole a Silver Cab taxi and involved in road accident. After Smith stole the taxi, he drove through a red light in Sydney and crashed into another car. In this accident, the other car's driver, Wissam Ahmad. 20-year-old was killed, while the other two passengers was critically injured. In May 2010, Smith pleaded guilty for his dangerous driving which cause death and injuries. He was charged and sentenced to six years jail with a four year and seven months non-parole period. Additionally, his licence was suspended for five years. His lawyer Stephen Alexander claimed that Smith's behaviour and action was caused by youth recklessness.

Comment:
Safety comes first. All the road users should be careful and take full responsibility to ensure that the road is safe and free from accident. Besides that, they should obey the traffic rule and regulations. If everyone are caution and follow the law, road accidents can be minimised.

Aussie News 20:Drugs tragedy of 29kg anorexia sufferer

An anorexia sufferer, Melissa Tatchell, 28 year old weighted only 29kg. She had mistakenly taken the wrong dose of painkiller Oxycontin and in her blood, there are lethal levels of painkiller components.
In October 2007, Melissa Tatchell fall and injured her ankle and leg. She tried multiple painkiller prescriptions to relieve her pain. Firstly, she had been prescribed 40mg tablets of Oxycontin and then 80mg tablets.
But, the hospital staff found that she had been mistakenly consuming the 80mg tablets twice a day. She became drowsy, suffering abdominal pain and unable to speak or call people.
On 8 of October 2007, she was found unconsciousness and unresponsive.

Comment:
Drugs bring harm if we use them excessively. A control amount of drugs are helpful and useful to us, but if we overdose them, they can cause fatal. Therefore, we need to be careful when taking medicine or prescription drugs and follow the medicinal instruction closely.

Aussie News 19: Armless man Liu Wei plays piano with his toes

In "China's Got Talent" show, an armless Chinese young man, Liu Wei is able to present a wonderful performance of the classic "Mariage D'amour" by only using his toes. He able to proceed to the next round of competition.
Liu Wei, a 23 year old young man. When he was 10 year old, he accidentally touched a high-voltage wire during a hide-and-seek game. After the accident, he lost both his arms.
He said that there were only two options for him. First was give up and hopeless death, second was live in more interesting and outstanding life.
When he was 18, he decided to choose the second option. He started to play piano and his aim is to be a professional musician. However, his first piano teacher stop teaching him as the teacher said that it was impossible mission for a person to play piano with their toes.Besides that, the Beijing teen also supported the claim by saying that he was not able to press the keys across octaves.
But he did not give up and eventually developed his own style of playing piano with his toes.

Comment:
Nothing is impossible. Everyone has their own talents. So, when we meet difficulty, don't give and try own best. Our future is in our own hands.

Aussie News 18: Deadly fires claim a girl, 5, and man, 97

Fires was happened in the NSW Hunter region. The bodies of a five-year-old girl and an a 97-year-old man have been found in the fires.
The police and fire crews were received a call that a house in Greenway Avenue, Woodberry, near Maitland was on fire. When the firemen arrived the scene, a woman who managed to escape from the flames told that her 5 year olds granddaughter still in the house.
After an hour, the firemen managed to bring the fire under control. They have found a child's body and an elderly man bodies.

Comment:
Prevention is better than cure. Ordinary people should learn how to prevent the happening of fires and how to put out the small fire.

Aussie News 17: 'Miraculous escape' for pilot and passenger as plane crashes in Melbourne backyard

A light plane crash happened in a Melbourne backyard just hundreds of metres from the Moorabbin Airport runway. The single-engine four-seater plane hit the roof of one house and then crashed in the backyard of a neighbouring home on Loweer Dandenong Road, Mordialloc, around 3.30pm.
A 28-year-old female pilot from Hawthorn and a 70-year-old male passenger who is on an aerial photography mission are unhurt from this crash. It was a miracle.
The failure of the plane's engine caused the crash. The plane was seriously damage and it will never able to function again. However, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau will investigate the accident.

Comment:
It was a miracle as both of them are unhurt in this crash. After this accident, every pilots should have proper training and experiences before they are able to flight by themselves. As the saying goes, safety comes first.

Aussie News 16: Iceberg as big as 40 Ulurus breaks free from Greenland glacier, heads for Nares Strait



An ice island has broken off from one of the Greenland's two main glaciers. According to the NASA images, the island is about 259 square kilometres and the thickness is more than 200m.
The island will first enter the remote area Nares Strait which is 998km south of the North Pole between Greenland and Canada. The professor of ocean science and engineering of the University of Delaware, Andreas Muenchow comments that the direction of the moving of the island still unpredictable. It might move toward the land or break up into smaller pieces, slowly move to south. If this happens, it could block the shipping. He also says that the impacts of global warming is difficult to predict because the records on the sea water around the glacier were kept since 2003.
The main causes of this incident happened is the flow of the sea water below the glaciers.

Comment:
Global warming is the concern issue recently. Global warming brings many undesirable consequences to us. is The breaking off of the ice island is one of the consequences. This causes many inconvenient to people. So, everyone should take responsibility to the global warming issue and try to overcome it in order to save our earth.

Aussie News 15: Two killed, at least 50 injured in Missouri school bus crash

An accident which involving two school buses, a tractor trailer and a pick-up truck occured at 10.15am on I-44 and Highway 100 near Gray Summit, Missouri. In this accident, two people were killed and at least 50 others were injured. The two people who were killed in the crush were one female student and the male pick-up truck driver. Besides that, some of the students were seriously injured and they were hospitalised.
The students were having their annual trip to the Six Flags amusement park amusement park in Eureka, Missouri. The students were from 8th grades of the St James Middle School and 9th-12th grades of the John F Hodge High School in St James.
The driver of the tractor trailer who involved in the accident said that first was the pick-up truck hit his tractor trailer. Then his tractor trailer struck the first school bus. The first school bus rode up onto the top of the truck, followed by the crash of the second school bus.
However, the actual cause of this accident still under investigation.

Most of the accidents happen will grab people's life. So, all the road users should practice safety precaution and obey all the rules to make sure that the road are free from accidents.
